These four styles revisit both the fabric and the prints of the loopwheel French terry series revived to celebrate the brand's 60th anniversary. Papas Co., Ltd. announced the details on Monday, October 19.
Finer yarn on the reverse side and a new sweatshirt logo
The fabric continues to be made using traditional loopwheel knitting machines. According to the company, this method slowly knits air into the fabric without putting unnecessary strain on the yarn, creating a plush texture.
The change is to the yarn used on the reverse side of the fabric. The company says it adopted a slightly finer, softer yarn than before to pursue a lighter feel and softer comfort. The sweatshirt's logo design has also been updated.
How the sweatshirt, pants, and two layering pieces differ
The Loopwheel Pile Raglan Sleeve Sweatshirt has a crew neck, long sleeves, and prints on the chest and back. In addition to M and L, an oversized LL is available at some stores. There are no plans to offer LL through the official online store.
The Loopwheel Pile Sweatpants are full length, with an elastic waistband and drawstring. They have pockets on both sides and buttoned back pockets, and the company describes the silhouette as not overly wide.
The Loopwheel Pile Zip-Up Hooded Jacket features a drawstring hood and front kangaroo pockets. The cuffs and hem use rib-knit fabric. The brand suggests wearing it as a light outer layer in chilly weather or under a coat.
The Loopwheel Pile Raglan Sleeve Cardigan features a crew neck and button closure. It can be worn open as a layering piece or with all the buttons fastened, like a sweatshirt.
Sizes, colors, prices, and retailers for the four loopwheel French terry styles
All four styles are 100% cotton and made in Japan. The three tops come in eight colors: TOP Oatmeal, Pink, Egg Yellow, Sax Blue, TOP Gray, Dark Red, Navy, and Black. The pants come in six of these colors, excluding Egg Yellow and Dark Red.
