FIVESTAR Inc. launched a new video podcast program, "The Biggest BEST BUY of My Life," on YouTube and Spotify in August 2026.
With the concept "Know a person through things," the program explores a guest's values, turning points and the background to their decisions through the biggest purchase of their life.
The first guest is Rintaro. of the comedy duo EXIT.
A New Podcast That Unpacks a Life Through Things: "The Biggest BEST BUY of My Life"
Each time, "The Biggest BEST BUY of My Life" invites a different guest and, starting from the thing that was the "biggest BEST BUY of their life," digs deep into turning points in their life, their values and the moments they made decisions.

According to FIVESTAR Inc., the program is a new project in which the company, which has engaged with people's lives through beauty, approaches people's inner selves from the new perspective of "Know a person through things."
EXIT's Rintaro. Talks About His "Entrance Ticket to Becoming a Comedian"
What guest Rintaro. of EXIT chose as his "biggest BEST BUY of his life" in the first episode was not a luxury watch, a car or clothes.
It was the roughly ¥400,000 he paid to NSC (Yoshimoto Sogo Geino Gakuin) in order to become a comedian.

Rintaro. says that to him, this roughly ¥400,000 was not just tuition but an "entrance ticket to becoming a comedian" that led to the rest of his life.
On the program, the life and decision-making behind a single purchase are explored through questions such as "Why did you aim to become a comedian?", "What kind of amount was roughly ¥400,000 to you back then?", "Why were you able to decide to pay that money?" and "Looking back now, what did you really 'buy' with that roughly ¥400,000?"
A Story of "Choices" That Reveal Values
"The Biggest BEST BUY of My Life" is different from an ordinary shopping introduction.
What changes a life is not necessarily an expensive thing. It can be clothes, a watch, a car, a house, a trip, an experience, or money spent on one's own future, among many others.

When people choose something and spend money, their own values show. The themes of the program are what they spend money on, why they decided at that moment, what they expected, and how their life changed because of that choice.
It is announced that the time this program aims to create is one in which a conversation about shopping turns, before you know it, into a conversation about that person's life.
A Choice That Broadens Life, Beyond Price
In episode #0 of the program, host Masayuki Sakuma presented as his own "biggest BEST BUY of his life" a vintage denim jacket, the "LEVI’S S506XXE," which he bought for ¥55 million.
Then in the first episode, the roughly ¥400,000 for NSC that Rintaro. chose is featured. Their prices and nature differ greatly, but the two BEST BUYs have something in common.

It is that "that choice greatly broadened the life that followed." What the program is looking for is not the "most expensive purchase" for that person, but the purchase that has meant the most to them in their life, and the story unique to that person contained in the choice.
FIVESTAR's Aim: A New Point of Contact That "Faces People"
FIVESTAR Inc., which produces the program, was founded in 2013 in Koriyama, Fukushima Prefecture, and is now a comprehensive beauty group operating about 60 beauty salons in Japan and overseas.
Through the work of beauty, it has engaged with the lives and values of many people, including customers and staff.

FIVESTAR's mission is the phrase "We want to create a good way home." It wants to create time and experiences that let not only its staff but everyone involved feel "it was a good day today" at the end of the day.
This thinking is not limited to the field of beauty. It focuses on the values and the lives themselves behind each person's choices, such as work, fashion, food, travel, hobbies, learning, and the various "purchases" made at milestones in life.
FIVESTAR wants to further extend the "facing people" attitude it has cultivated in its beauty business and create new points of contact where people, values and cultures meet across industries and fields. The video podcast "The Biggest BEST BUY of My Life" was born as one of those new initiatives.
