GIVENCHY, operated by LVMH Fragrance Brands, will release De Givenchy TOKYO Mystère from its premium fragrance series La Collection Particulière. It will be sold at Isetan Shinjuku and on ISETAN BEAUTY online. The company describes it as a fragrance available only at Isetan Shinjuku anywhere in the world.
The release date is Wednesday, October 7, 2026. It comes in 100mL, priced at ¥41,800 (tax included). The fragrance family is described as woody citrus.
Inspired by the founder's interest in Japanese art and the 1953 collection "Mystère"
According to the company, the fragrance was born as a tribute to the Japanese culture loved by founder Hubert de Givenchy and to his 1953 couture collection "Mystère". While working as a couturier, Hubert was also an avid collector of Japanese art.
In "Mystère", the influence of Japanese art is said to appear in cuts reminiscent of obi sashes and kimono, in fabrics whose patterns look printed but are actually woven in, and in a distinctive, hard-to-define use of color. The collection has been reinterpreted for today by current Creative Director Sarah Burton.
From mandarin and orange to a wood accord of hinoki, cedar and pine
The perfumer is Quentin Bisch, who was named Best Perfumer in 2020. The top notes are mandarin essence and orange essence, the middle note is a water accord, and the last notes are a wood accord of hinoki, cedar and pine.
The company describes the water accord as a fresh, clean scent reminiscent of Japan's pure waterside, and the wood accord as a scent symbolizing Japan's rich nature.
Cherry blossoms on the outer box, fresh yellow liquid in the bottle
The bottle has clean, elegant lines and a jet-black cap trimmed with a silver ring. A black square plate engraved with the product name is attached, giving it a gender-free design.

The bottle is filled with an exceptionally clear, fresh yellow liquid. The company describes the color as reminiscent of the fresh yellow coat Sarah Burton presented as a tribute to the "Mystère" collection. The outer box is decorated with cherry blossoms inspired by a lacquered box painted with cherry blossoms and festival floats, one of the items in Hubert's collection.
