Natural stone accessory brand Maralani Hawaii announced on October 9 the start of sales of the bracelet "Herkimer Axis." It is available at the official online store, the Tokyo Omotesando store and the Osaka LUCUA 1100 store.
The clear stone at the center is a quartz known as Herkimer diamond. Black-toned natural stones are lined up on either side of it, making a bracelet with a striking color contrast.
A combination of quartz with morion and onyx
Herkimer diamond is the name of a quartz found in the Herkimer area of New York State, USA. Despite having diamond in its name, the material is quartz. The clear stone, which shows its crystal shape and inner features, is placed at the center of the design.
The natural stones combined are morion, onyx and quartz. A clear portion is set within a ring of black stones, creating an arrangement where different textures sit side by side on the wrist. Some of the black stones are cut, and the way the surface looks changes depending on how the light hits it.
The materials are natural stone, brass-plated charms and silicone rubber. The charm is removable, and the onyx and the original charm are engraved with the word "Malulani," derived from the brand name.
The shape and look of each natural stone differs
The Herkimer diamonds used have individual differences such as crystal irregularities, inclusions, and fine scratches or chips. In this product, stones with chips or differences in shape are also used.
The brand says it does not use stones that are likely to break soon after use or that are unsuitable as accessories, such as those that could scratch the wrist. Because natural stones are not uniform in shape or surface, each piece has a different look even with the same design.
Four sizes from S to LL
S is about 14 to 14.5 cm and M is about 15 to 15.5 cm, both priced at 13,200 yen (tax included). L is about 16 to 16.5 cm at 13,640 yen (tax included), and LL is about 17 to 17.5 cm at 14,080 yen (tax included).
