Ichibata-yama Yakushiji will add a new chocolate mint design to the amulet pouches available in the "Amulet Making Experience" at its Nagoya Annex, and will start distributing it on Thursday, October 15, 2026. As the third installment of the "Retro Pop Collection," it combines a mint-colored stripe pattern with brown.
The new design is exclusive to the Nagoya Annex, and the experience costs ¥1,000 to take part. Participants choose a favorite amulet pouch, braided cord and wish paper and put them together.

The new design draws on the traditional Japanese "bōjima" (bar stripe) pattern, in which straight stripes line up at regular intervals. Mint blue and pale blue alternate, with chocolate-like brown at the top and bottom and bright green mint leaves as an accent.
Ichibata-yama Yakushiji explains that it combined a traditional pattern with chocolate mint colors to create a design that is easy to match with modern fashion and everyday belongings.

In the Amulet Making Experience, participants choose a pouch from several designs and make an amulet by combining it with a braided cord and wish paper. The process includes not only the pouch pattern but also choosing the colors to combine with it.
The Retro Pop Collection is a series inspired by the menus and drinks of old-fashioned coffee shops. So far, the first installment "Lemon Squash" and the second "Melon Soda" have appeared, and the temple plans to distribute pouches with a new theme on the 15th of every month.
