About 100 participants from across Japan gathered, along with influencers. Through talk sessions, a photo shoot and mingling, they spent time enjoying their own hair.

Overview of "Curly Me Kuru Kuru Party 2026"
The event was organized by Curly Me, which offers hair care products for enjoying the hair one was born with, rather than "fixing" curly or naturally wavy hair as a complex.
In addition to providing products, the company is working to build a community where people with the same hair concerns can meet, exchange information and positively enjoy their own kind of curls.

The main program of the event was as follows.
Special talk session

Styling demonstration by hair stylists

About 100 people from across Japan gather the day before "Curly Hair Day"
Curly Me wants people to be proud of and enjoy the curly or naturally wavy hair they were born with, and has designated September 6 as "Curly Hair Day," a play on "kuru kuru" (9696). The event took place the day before.
About 100 people from across Japan took part in "Kuru Kuru Party 2026." For participants who usually have few people around them with similar hair types, it was a chance to meet people with all kinds of curly hair and learn about new styles and hair care options.

At the venue, participants talked about hair care and styling and complimented each other's curls, and positive, enjoyable exchanges grew out of their curly hair.

A varied program to rediscover the charm of curly hair
On the day, influencers who share styles that make the most of curly hair also took part and helped liven up the venue.
In the special talk session, Curly Girl Rin, the brand founder of Curly Me, served as facilitator, and two hair stylists knowledgeable about caring for curly hair took the stage. They talked about how to come to terms with curly hair and about daily hair care and styling techniques, drawing on their own experience and professional perspectives.

In the stylists' demonstration, participants watched professional techniques up close and picked up tips for styling and care that bring out their curls.

In the photo shoot with a professional photographer, participants had photos taken of styles that make the most of their curly hair. Even during the shoot, participants were seen complimenting each other's curly hair.

A quiz and raffle and a standing-style mixer were also held, and even first-time participants naturally struck up conversations, making it a day of getting closer while enjoying exchanging information on hair care and styling.

Curly Me's aim: "a society where everyone enjoys their own hair"
Brand representative Curly Girl Rin said she started Curly Me out of a wish to share with others who struggle in the same way her own experience of coming to love her curly hair.
She commented that she felt joy at seeing people of all hair types gather at this party and connect while enjoying their own hair.

She also touched on the reality that, in school life, the hair people are born with is sometimes not accepted as it is and they are asked to explain or prove it. She said she wants to listen to such experiences and voices and think about a society where both hair and people themselves can be freer.
Curly Me says it will continue to offer choices that let each person enjoy their own hair, not only through product development but also through sharing information and building community.
About Curly Me hair care products
Curly Me was born as a hair care brand offering a "new option" that did not exist among conventional hair care items for curly hair. Rather than suppressing hair type as an "individuality," it develops products to bring out its charm to the fullest.
It aims to bring out the natural beauty and softness of each person's curls while gently caring for the hair and scalp. Using ingredients of Japanese origin, it develops and manufactures products in Japan to suit Japan's climate, hair types and lifestyles. Working through repeated prototypes with its manufacturer, it continues to make products with a commitment to quality.

Curly Me products are silicone-free, mineral oil-free, ethanol-free and sulfate-free. They contain no animal-derived ingredients, use naturally derived ingredients wherever possible, and are formulated to be gentle on the scalp and hair.
